Ministry Night - September 25, 2024
At least once a year, it is good for our liturgical ministers to take time to reflect on their ministries. Every week liturgical ministers engage in our tasks of ushering, distributing the Holy Eucharist, reading the scriptures, greeting, etc. and they can become just that, tasks. Liturgical Ministry can become like mowing the lawn or washing the dishes. Occasionally, we need to step back and consider what we are doing and why we are doing it. For that reason, all liturgical ministers are encouraged to attend a ministry night on Wednesday, September 25, at 6:30 p.m. in church.
The evening begins with prayer, a reflection on ministry, and a review of some of the procedures at Mass. Our guest speaker, Deacon Kevin Hernandez, will share some thoughts on why we serve the Lord. A light reception will follow in the St. Damien Center.
It is important all ministers attend this gathering. In the past, we have held a night like this, but not every year. We hope to make this a yearly event. It helps to clarify questions as they come up and it helps keep us spiritually fed for the work we do.
If you do not serve in a Liturgical Ministry but would like to attend this event, we welcome you.
