Anointing of the Sick

Times of illness are very difficult for the one who is sick and for their families. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is meant to bring comfort and healing to those who are ill.  If you are seriously, chronically ill or elderly you can be anointed.  Masses where we anoint the sick are offered periodically throughout the year.  You can also approach one of our priests after Daily Mass and they will try to accommodate you.

If someone is in danger of death or has died the priests are available to come and anoint the person who is ill. If a parish member, the priests or a deacon can come to offer the prayers for the dead and comfort the family.

You can contact us any time of the day or night at (309) 762-2362.  Follow the instructions for requesting an emergency anointing.  Keep in mind that the phone system will send a message to the priest’s cell phone and it will take a few minutes for the priest to return your call.  Leave your number twice and speak clearly.
