A New Tradition at Sacred Heart

Dear Parishioners,

One of the things recommended in the strategic plan we developed about nine years ago was to have a yearly signature event for our parish. The reasons for the activity would be twofold.

First, we would like to have a community building event where we invite people from outside the parish for a time of fellowship and fun.

The other reason for the event is to raise money for our parish. Presently, we have a debt we incurred when building the St. Damien Center.  We would like to continue to reduce this debt and pay off the new addition as soon as possible.

We were not able to start a signature event over the last several years because there were so many other things that demanded our attention. We had several capital projects and fundraisers and we celebrated the centennial of our church in various ways. Now, the time seems to be right to start a new tradition at Sacred Heart.

We are calling this event the Sacred Heart Parish Reunion and it takes place on June 22nd. It will be a gathering of food, games, and community building. We plan to invite past members of Sacred Heart. It is a day to reconnect with old friends and to make new ones.

We need your help! If you have the addresses of previous parish members we would love to send them an invitation. Please send this information to the following email address: reunion@sacredheartmoline.org.

This reunion will be a family gathering. We hope to build it up in years to come with people wanting to return to Sacred Heart to celebrate fond memories and create new ones. Please pray this effort is successful.

May Our Lady pray for us during her special month,

Fr. Mark
