Letter to Parishioners:

Dear Parishioners,

Since we have opened our new Gathering Center there have been more parishioners coming to church with walkers and using wheelchairs.  This has been a welcome result of our efforts to provide access to our church.  This has also challenged us to provide more space for people with mobility issues to sit.

To address this, we have done some minor work in the downstairs choir area next to the northeast door.  We have removed one of the railings that was there in order that there be more space.  There should be enough room for four or five wheelchairs if necessary.  People can either enter the church through the west door of the Gathering Center or through the northeast door of the church.  Both areas have ramps.  Please spread the world to those who have ceased coming to Sacred Heart because they could not climb stairs.

I would also like to thank our Gardening Committee who have been working around the Gathering Center.  Cliff Zerull and other volunteers have trucked in dirt, laid sod and planted foliage.  All this needed to be done so that we could have final approval from the City of Moline and take full possession of the building.  This work saved our parish a lot of money.  Please thank our gardeners when you see them.

May Our Lady Pray for us as Easter continues.
