Catechetical Sunday - September 15th, 2024
“FINDING CHRIST”
Catechetical Sunday allows parishes to recognize and thank those who give generously of their time and gifts in the work of catechesis. Catechesis is the process of religious instruction and formation in the Christian faith. It involves teaching the core beliefs, practices, and values of Christianity to individuals, often in preparation for sacraments like Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Catechesis aims to deepen one’s understanding of the faith, foster a personal relationship with God, and encourage living out the teachings of Jesus in daily life. On September 15th at 9:15 a.m. Mass, Father Mark commissions the teachers/Catechists from both Seton and Sacred Heart’s Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) and Religious Education.
