New Year’s Updates
Dear Parishioners,
Happy New Year! The upcoming year will be full of challenges for all of us at Sacred Heart. As we begin the year, there are more remodeling projects at our parish.
The church flooring is in bad shape. During January, we are replacing the carpeting and at the same time we are uncovering the marble that is in the main aisle. This requires the pews to be moved. This is a big project with many months of planning.
We are vacating the church during January. Daily Mass is in the St. Damien Center. Any funerals during this time, will be moved to another church. Sunday Mass is taking place in church while the work is being done.
We are also adding insulation to the attic of the church. Right now, there is very little insulation. This work should lead to significant savings in heating and cooling.
I apologize for any inconvenience. Let us pray that the work moves quickly, and we will be back in our church as quickly as possible. I thank the volunteers who are helping move the pews around.
This work is financed by the His Heart Our Hands offertory initiative, by donations from parish organizations, and private donors. Once again Sacred Heart parishioners responded generously so that we can continue to improve parish facilities.
I pray that God will bless you and your families in the upcoming year.
Fr. Mark
