Hispanic Ministry Update

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, the Hispanic Ministry hosted a warm and vibrant Coffee Café in celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This special event was an opportunity for the community to come together and honor the rich traditions of Hispanic culture, while reflecting on the significance of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the faithful.

The morning began with a heartfelt Mass at 9:15 a.m., where the congregation gathered to celebrate the feast. Following the Mass, a moving reenactment of the encounter between Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe brought the story to life. The children’s liturgy presented roses to the Blessed Virgin, symbolizing their devotion and honoring her role in the lives of all believers. Additionally, indigenous dancers performed, adding a beautiful cultural touch to the occasion.

The celebration continued with Coffee Café, where attendees enjoyed coffee, fellowship, and delicious treats, deepening their sense of community and devotion. It was a time to reflect on the message of our Lady of Guadalupe, a symbol of hope, compassion, and faith for the Hispanic community and beyond.

The Hispanic Ministry was excited to invite all to their next event, the Posada, which was held on December 22, 2024, following the 9:15 a.m. Mass. The Posada is a cherished Mexican Christmas tradition that commemorates the journey of Joseph and Mary from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a place to stay. During this event, participants sang carols, enjoyed delicious food, and joined together in fellowship to celebrate the season of Advent and the upcoming birth of Christ.

All were welcome to attend and partake in these joyful and meaningful traditions. The Hispanic Ministry looks forward to continuing to share the spirit of Christmas in the years to come with everyone in the community.
