Emmaus Procession: Saturday October 7th, 2023
Walk with Jesus in the Eucharist alongside hundreds of faithful in a beautiful procession just as on the first road to Emmaus.
Our schedule is:
6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. - Park at Our Lady of Lourdes in Bettendorf. Shuttles available to Moline.
8:00 a.m. - Mass at Sacred Heart Moline
9:00 a.m. - Begin Eucharistic Procession with stops at St. Mary, Moline and along the route. Cross the I-74 Bridge and end at Our Lady of Lourdes, Bettendorf. (Total distance is about 3.75 miles)
12:00 p.m. (estimated) - Benediction at Our Lady of Lourdes, with refreshments following.
Parking Information
Please park in the lot one block north of Our Lady of Lourdes, Bettendorf. There will be signs and volunteers helping guide you to the parking. Shuttles are provided to take you to the starting point, Sacred Heart Church in Moline. The buses run from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Those using the shuttles are asked to arrive as early as possible, to ensure everyone can be shuttled to Sacred Heart in time for 8:00 a.m. Mass.
If you plan to park at Sacred Heart, we ask that cars be moved out of the parking lot by 10:30 a.m. for a wedding taking place later in the day.
Route Information
The route begins here at Sacred Heart and continues to St. Mary in Moline. From there the procession crosses over the Mississippi River on the I-74 bridge. Then it is about half a mile to the end point at Our Lady of Lourdes, Bettendorf. If you want to join the procession at one of the parishes along the way, and only walk part of the way, you are welcome to do so. Please coordinate this on your own or the organizers can assist with planning. There is a shuttle following the procession for those that need assistance.
