RCIA: The Gift of Faith
Last spring at the Easter Vigil, ten adults received the Sacraments of Initiation in order to become fully Catholic. They were a dynamic, faith-filled group and we are blessed to have them as members of our parish.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is the process in which the adult inquirer is transformed from an unbeliever to a believer, or a person of little faith becomes a disciple of Jesus. It is through our weekly gathering the seeker is able to explore our faith with the guidance of the RCIA team and sponsors.
As a team and as sponsors it is a spiritual experience to witness someone becoming closer to God and infused in our faith. We all embark on this journey together and learn from each other.
We are inviting our parishioners to consider referring a friend or family member who has shown interest in the Catholic faith. Inviting this individual to come to our initial RCIA sessions allows this person to see if he or she would like to grow in their love of the Lord. You are invited to accompany this person on the journey. Our weekly inquiry sessions begin September 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the AV Room of Culemans Fellowship Hall.
For non-Catholics or parishioners needing to complete their Sacraments of Initiation or if you have questions, please call the Lee Parish Center at (309) 762-2362 to speak with Fr. Mark or Sandy Carlsten. You may also email Sandy at scarlsten@sacredheartmoline.org
Sacred Heart is a warm, friendly, and faith-filled community, so our hope is to continue to grow by bringing new Catholics into our church.
