Catch Up on Sacraments
When COVID hit; it stopped many families from having their children receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. We could not go to church and so it challenged our faith life. Now, it is time that we work on catching up on the Sacraments our children still need.
BAPTISM is the first of the three Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic Church. Through Baptism we become a part of the body of Christ.
EUCHARIST is the second Sacrament that our children receive. Eucharist actually means “Thanksgiving.” Here, we celebrate by giving thanks to God our Father for His undying love for us and to thank Him for giving us Jesus. The Eucharistic Celebration is also a solemn reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus who died for us on the cross to take away our sins, rose from the dead, and who now lives with our Father in heaven and in our hearts.
CONFIRMATION is the third Sacrament that our children receive. Confirmation in the Catholic Church is where we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the imposition of hand and anointing with oils by the bishop. It’s considered a sacrament of initiation which means it brings you deeper into communion with the Church.
