Lenten Simple Suppers
You never know what you are missing until it is gone!
That is how parishioners felt when COVID hit and we had to cancel our Wednesday Lenten Simple Suppers. Our Simple Suppers were a time to gather and share a meal and some social time with parish family and friends. An added feature was always a Lenten theme with guest speakers reflecting on that theme. It gave us all something to think about and reflect on during Lent. Throughout the years, we’ve had parishioners giving the reflection or guests from our local community joining us to talk. We even had a movie night each Wednesday with a discussion to follow on the movies that was very meaningful.
On Wednesdays during Lent, our journey begins with Reconciliation at 5:00 p.m. Then, at 5:30 p.m. we pray the Stations of the Cross, as we walk with Jesus sharing his pain and suffering. We end the night with our Simple Suppers held in Culemans Fellowship Hall. Since this is the Eucharistic Revival Year, a powerful video on the Eucharist will follow our meals.
Something new has been added to this year’s journey. Fr. Peter Gaspeny, a friend of Fr. Mark DeSutter, will be our guest for a Parish Mission. Join us on the following nights as Fr. Peter talks about The Real Presence of Jesus and walks us through the Mass.
