Alleman’s New School Board
Last year, Alleman Catholic High School engaged in strategic planning with Partners in Mission, a company that specializes in such planning. One of the recommendations of the strategic plan was that Alleman reinstate a school board. A constitution was written by the Diocese of Peoria for all Diocesan High Schools, including Alleman. The role of the new school board is to evolve over time. Today, it is considered a consultative body under the authority of the Bishop of Peoria.
Sarah Darrow agreed to be the chairman of the new board and Jenni Burkett agreed to be vice chair. The newly installed board, which includes 14 members, met twice. The recruitment of committee members was completed in mid-February.
The response of those who asked to be involved in the new board is overwhelmingly positive. The board has many areas of responsibilities as they seek to implement the strategic plan including finance, governance, student life, and academics.
The Alleman Board asks for your prayers and continued support as it moves forward. Alleman is an important Catholic educational institution in our community. Thousands of people benefitted from its ministry over the years. Alleman helps bind the Catholic community together in the Illinois Quad Cities.
