Eagle Scouts at Sacred Heart

Nicholas Forgie’s path to Eagle began as a second grader in 2011 Cub Scouts Pack 109. He crossed over to Troop 109 in 2016. He earned his Eagle Scout October 18, 2022.

As a member of Troop 109, Nicholas participated in activities such as: camping, university merit badge clinics at various locations, and summer camps at Loud Thunder. Nicholas attended Sea Base High Adventure in Islamorada, FL in 2019, and D-Bar-A Scout Ranch twice in Metamora, MI. He helped with service projects when available. Nicholas served in various leadership positions: Webmaster, Den Chief, Quartermaster, and Patrol leader. He earned all four of the Catholic religious emblems: Light of Christ, Parvulei Dei, Ad Altare Dei, and Pope Pius XII and is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.

Through all his adventures, he earned a total of 69 merit badges, 14 of them are Eagle required. For his service project, Nick added a Sensory Path to Culemans Hall’s grounds. Nick would like to thank everyone who cheered him along his journey!


Garrett Castens’ path to Eagle began as a first grader in 2010 Cub Scouts Pack 109. He crossed over to Troop 109 in 2015.

He earned his Eagle Scout in June 2022. For his Eagle Scout project, he built a 4x10 handicapped accessible latrine for the Quad City Conservation Alliance (QCCA) Wetlands in East Moline, IL. As an active member of Troop 109, he participated in activities such as: hiking, camping, many chili cook-offs. Garrett attended University Merit Badge Clinics at Monmouth College, Klondike Loud Thunder, summer camps at Loud Thunder, D-Bar-A Camp Metamora, Michigan, and Tomahawk Camp Birchwood, Wisconsin. He also attended World Scout Jamboree 2019 at Glen Jean, West Virginia. Garrett earned all four Catholic religious emblems and the Order of the Arrow. What an accomplishment for these two young men!
