Third Sunday of Advent
Dear Parishioners,
When you read this, we will have started a series on the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Facebook. The title of the series is “Prepare Your Hearts”. The subjects of the three talks are:
1. Why does the church have the Sacrament of Reconciliation?
2. How should I prepare for reconciliation?
3. Rejoicing in absolution.
The talks will take about 10 to 15 minutes. After that we will have an opportunity for some questions and answers. This is an opportunity to have some spiritual growth in our life even during the pandemic. Please join us.
I would also like to remind people that we would like you to sign up for Christmas Masses on our website at sacredheartmoline.org, or by calling our office. We will have five Masses, but we can only have approximately 125 people at each Mass. My estimate that about 700 people will be able to attend Mass in person. If a Mass reaches capacity, and you have not registered online, you will be instructed to come to a later Mass. A couple of the Masses will be livestreamed. We will try to distribute communion after the Christmas Morning Mass for those who are uncomfortable with attending in person.
We are trying to do our best to accommodate as many people as possible.
May Our Lady and all the Saints and Angels watch over you today.
Fr. Mark
P.S. One of our parishioners has stepped forward with a matching gift. If you would like to donate to the TTT campaign before the end of the year, this parishioner will match your gift up to $25,000. You can give a gift of any size up to $25,000. Just drop an envelope in the collection marked TTT or call Bobbie Vidmar at our office if you would like to donate stocks, bonds, etc. All monies raised now go toward our Tier III goal of providing a gathering space with handicapped access into the church. We thank the anonymous donor. We need approximately $780,000 to reach our overall goal.
Just to bring you up-to-date on Fr. Matthews Mission Co-op Collection. The Society of African Missions received $11,343.00 in our annual mission This is Fr. Matthew’s religious society. This represents a significant increase from last year. Thanks to everyone for their generosity.
