Cookie Walk: A Christmas Tradition

As we are already being reminded when we walk through different stores, Christmas is just around the corner. One of Sacred Heart's Christmas traditions is our Annual Cookie Walk. The year the Cookie Walk is on Saturday, December 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Cookie dropoff will be Friday, December 7th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Parish App: One Parishioner's Experience

This month, we spoke to Carolyn Wilson, who graciously agreed to share with us her experience using the new Sacred Heart parish app! If you haven't tried the app out yet, read on to find out more about the features it offers.

“Family to Family” – Thirty-One Years Strong

The committee members of Family to Family will be posting on all the church bulletin boards envelopes for those in need of assistance for Christmas this year on the weekend of November 17/18. Please consider selecting an envelope and return your gift no later than December 8.

Honor Our Parish Veterans - Sunday, Nov. 11th

This year, we will honor our veterans on Sunday, November 11th at 9:00 a.m. Mass. Following the Mass, enjoy a special Coffee Café where we will serve breakfast to our veterans and their families. We will meet in the Culemans Hall Cafeteria as normal. We invite all parishioners to join us on Veterans Day to help us honor our parish veterans. Everyone is invited to celebrate the veterans at both Mass and Coffee Café.

Giving Thanks this November

Thanksgiving still marks the beginning of the holiday season. I always like Thanksgiving because it is not a big commercial holiday. Halloween, Christmas, and Easter offer vendors more opportunities to make money. Thanksgiving is a one-day event. It comes and goes very quietly. But it is a day when I have memories of family gatherings where there was quality time spent together around a common meal. My family played games and shared stories.

A Closer Look: Parish Finances

We ended the year “in the black” and are grateful for the financial health of our parish. In our continued spirit of transparency, we would like to share additional financial details about our year.

What A Septemberfest!

Our Fourth Annual September Fest was held on Sunday, September 9th. After an extremely rainy week (especially considering the summer we had), we were blessed with a day full of sunshine and happy people.

Honoring Vets: Sunday, Nov. 11

This year, Veterans Day is on a Sunday. With that, we are trying something a little different. Rather than our normal dinner honoring the veterans, we will be joining Coffee Café and celebrating and thanking our veterans with breakfast.

Join Us at Our Mass of Remembrance on Nov. 3

At the 4:00 Mass on Saturday, November 3rd, the Mass also will have a ritual for announcing the names of our deceased women and men accompanied by the traditional candle lighting. After the Mass families will gather in Culemans Fellowship Hall for a reception with light refreshments.

Diagnosing Our Financial Health

Every year our parish finance committee shares a complete financial report with every parishioner. We do this, so every parishioner will understand the financial health of the parish.
