Religious Education Update

It is time to get registered for Religious Education Classes. Classes start September 8, 2019.

An Exciting Celebration at Sacred Heart

On October 23rd, 1919, the cornerstone of Sacred Heart’s church building was blessed. On Sunday, October 20th, 2019, we will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of that cornerstone ceremony, beginning with our 11:00 a.m. Mass, which will be held outside, weather permitting.

Anointing of the Sick

As with all sacraments, Anointing of the Sick confers sanctifying grace. Sacred Heart Parish will hold a special Anointing of the Sick Mass on Saturday, September 28, at 8:30am. Please join us for this very moving Liturgy.

Sunday by Sunday Faith Sharing Group

The Sunday by Sunday materials fully engage us, from preparation time into our lively sessions each Thursday at 2:00 p.m., in the A-V Room of Culemans Hall.

RCIA Meetings

Please pray with our RCIA sponsors and team as we welcome adults wanting to know about the Catholic Faith and to prepare to receive sacraments. The new faith journey begins Tuesday, Sept. 17th in the AV Room of Culemans Hall.

Cardinal Mercier's Visit - A Message from 1919

We are just a little over a month away from our celebration on Sunday, October 20th. The committee, staff, and the Archives Ministry, in particular, have been very busy. One item we found interesting and very exciting was an article the Archives Ministry came across originally found in the Gazette Van Moline, the Flemish language newspaper of Moline.

Our Parish Past, Our Parish Future

Recently, Don Lewis and Chris Welch did a little archaeological dig and they were able to locate the capsule that was deposited 100 years ago near the cornerstone of our church. We have been getting ready to celebrate the anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone which happened in October of 1919. The contents will be on display at the celebration.
