Hello, I am Melissa Hoffman, the new Parish Receptionist here at Sacred Heart. My family has been a part of the Parish for over ten years. We usually attend the 9 a.m. Mass, where we normally participate as Greeters or Ushers. My daughter serves as well. Throughout all my life, I have been involved with the Catholic Church.

Growing up in Northwest Indiana, I was involved with our Church by being a server and Eucharistic Minister, and participating in our Church Youth Group. I attended the local Catholic Schools and continued my Catholic education at St. Ambrose University. At St. Ambrose, I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Theology with a minor in Philosophy. While attending St. Ambrose, I had the opportunity to study and work abroad in Ireland as a student ambassador for our school. St. Ambrose was where I met my future husband, John, and we have resided in the Quad Cities area ever since.

Prior to having our daughter, Nicole, I was a High School Religion teacher at Assumption for two years and I became a stay-at-home mom when she was born. After she started attending grade school, I have worked part-time within a clerical, retail, or substitute teaching setting.

Outside of the office, I continue to enjoy volunteering at the local hospital, upcycling furniture, playing soccer and going for leisurely car rides with the family in our ‘73 Nova.

I am looking forward to meeting you the next time you stop by our Parish Office!
