How does a parish stay financially afloat when there are no Sunday collections? This has been the question our parish finance committee has been asking the last month and a half. Sacred Heart immediately put a donation tab on our WEB page at  We also announced on our live stream Masses that donations could be mailed into the office at 1608 - 13th Street, Moline, IL 61265. The results have been heartening so far. We have been getting about 75% of our collection monies, but that still leaves us short.

Linda Wolbers (finance chair) and Bobbie Vidmar (Finance Officer) applied for a small business loan through the Federal Government. We received that funding to cover salaries and utility expenses for two months. Seton School also received a small business loan. We are watching our expenses closely. Our hope is that these loans will become grants.

We need your help. Our parish endowment has lost much of its value. Fundraisers at the parish and school have been suspended. We want our ministries to remain vibrant. If everyone can keep up their offertory gifts that would help immensely. The parish finance committee is pleased with how parishioners have responded so far to our financial challenges. Please keep us in mind when you think of charities that need your help.
