COFFEE CAFÉ & WELCOME SUNDAYS AT SACRED HEART

On Sunday, October 13, we will welcome our new families who have joined us since last June at our October Welcome Sunday and Coffee Café. New parishioners will attend the 9:00 am Sunday Mass and then all are invited following Mass to a brunch reception in the Cafeteria of Culemans Hall. This is a wonderful opportunity for a Meet & Greet of our new families!

JOIN US AT OUR MASS OF REMEMBRANCE ON NOV. 2

Close to the feast of All Saints and All Souls, our parish remembers those who died in the past year. At the 4:00 Mass on Saturday, November 2nd we will also have a ritual for announcing the names of our deceased accompanied by the traditional candle lighting. After the Mass families will gather in the Parish Rectory for a light reception. Invitations will be mailed in mid-October to a family member of the deceased. The invitation then can be shared with family and friends of their loved one.

BUS TRIP TO BOVARD STUDIOS

So many parishioners have asked and are interested in how our beautiful stained-glass windows are being restored. Well, guess what? You will now have the opportunity to visit in person the Bovard Studios in Fairfield, Iowa. The trip is planned for Wednesday, November 6, 2019. It is a 2 hour and 20 min ride, so the bus will depart around 6:00am from Sacred Heart. For any questions, please contact Don Lewis at 309-230-6200.

IN HONOR OF OUR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES

In observance of Veterans Day, November 11, Sacred Heart will honor our dedicated service men and women for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. At this beautiful patriotic liturgy, we will recognize all five branches of the military- Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The celebration wouldn’t be complete without patriotic songs for all to sing. We ask for your prayers for all members of the armed forces, especially those who are serving from our parish. Our Veterans’ Day celebration will take place at the 11:00am Mass on Sunday, November 10. A luncheon will be served following the Mass for all Veterans, family members, friends and parishioners. We hope you will join us in honoring all who have served. We ask that all Veterans call Suzie at 762-2362, so we can reserve special seating at both the Mass and luncheon. Please call by Nov. 1st. All Veterans and one guest are free. Others $7.00 for the luncheon. God Bless America!
