VBS: Totally Catholic Maker Fun Factory: Created by God, built for a purpose!

We are so excited for our Vacation Bible School theme this year, it is the Totally Catholic Maker Fun Factory: Created by God, built for a purpose!  The camp will be July 10-14 from 8:30AM to 12PM.  It is for children in Pre-K through 5th grade.  6th grade to 100 years young are needed as volunteers.  Anything from helping with snacks, leading groups, making crafts, and many more.

Sacred Heart participants look forward to two unique opportunities!  Sacred Heart students have a time for prayer, in the St. Francis Chapel, every day.  They also learn about a new Saint every day, so they can see how our theme connects to people they have heard about in Sunday School or at Seton.

Another amazing opportunity our students will have is working with Catholic Relief Services to learn, and donate if they would like, about underprivileged countries that need clean water.  Our games will focus and use a lot of water to show kids how lucky we are as a city, and a nation, to be able to not only have enough water to drink, cook, and shower; but, also to play in.  Any donations the children bring in, even pennies, will go to Peru.  This year Catholic Relief Services focusing on Peru because of devastating floods throughout the country that have led the people to have even LESS access to clean water than normal.  To give an example of how bad the floods were, imagine the Mississippi river reaching up to the I-74 bridge, but a road and homes underneath that bridge.

The children will also learn they will built by God for a purpose, no matter if that means at singing, being kind to others, or any other talent they have.  Not only that God created them for that purpose, but He made them with love and that He wants us to share that Love with the world.  If you are interested in signing your child up you can register online at or print a copy registration at the cost for each child is $35 with a family max of $100.  We hope to see you there!

Lastly, we need financial help.  Some of our families struggle financially.  To put on an exceptional Vacation Bible School for 100-150 youth, we need a lot of snacks and supplies.   Even if you no longer have children at home, would you consider supporting us financially.  Any amount would help!  Envelopes will be available at all exits of the Church and you can just drop it in the collection basket.  If you have further questions contact Ivy Padula at 309-762-2362 ext. 210 or at her e-mail at
